Tamaya Spica Sextant

Tamaya is known the world over for high-quality craftsmanship and precision. Because of their sterling reputation, we offer two sextants from this Japanese company. The full-size Tamaya Spica Sextant is confidently used by ocean-going navigators because its optical system is designed to ensure maximum performance, including excellent LED electric lighting. The frame construction is lightweight aluminum alloy with a corrosion-resistant black finish. The arc is easily read, with white engravings on black finished bronze. The Spica Sextant comes standard with a plastic carrying case, an adjusting wrench, two dry cell UM-3 batteries, and two LED bulbs. Scopes are sold separately.   • Frame: lightweight die cast aluminum alloy with corrosion resistant black finish and bronze arc
  • Index Mirror: (57x42mm) Aluminized on rear side
  • Horizon Mirror: 57mm diameter. LED illumination of both arc and drum
  • Measuring range: -5° to 125°
  • Accuracy: less than 10 seconds of arc
  • All optics are fully coated
  • Vernier Scale: reads to 0'.2
  • Shade Glass: Four for index mirror, three for horizon mirror
  • One shade glass & one Polaroid glass for eyepiece of telescope
  • Interchangeable telescopes available in 4x40 (330), 7x35 (331) or 3.5x40 (70 005) (sold separately) 
  • Carrying case: double-wall air molded plastic with two slide locks
  • Sextant can be stored in fitted case with scope mounted 
  • Made in Japan
